Steps on How to Recover Deleted Contacts from HTC

Step 1. Link HTC to PC and enable usb debugging

Connect your phone to the computer with a usb cable and launch the Android data recovery program, pick the "Android Data Recovery" mode in the main interface, if you turn on usb debugging before, your phone will be automatically detected.

If you did not turn usb debuggong on, you will see the below interface, follow it to open usb debugging.

1. For Android 2.3 or earlier: Enter "Settings" < Click "Applications" < Click"Development" < Check "USB debugging".
2. For Android 3.0 to 4.1: Enter "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".
3. For Android 4.2 or newer: Enter "Settings" < Click "About Phone" < Tap "Build number" for several times until getting a note "You are under developer mode" < Back to "Settings" < Click "Developer options" < Check "USB debugging".

Step 2. Choose data type and root the phone

Next you can choose the data type you want to scan and click "Next" to move on, here we tick "Contacts".
