Mac Photo Recovery 5.0 is award-winning Macintosh application that scans the hard drive, external USB drives, memory cards, iPods, and digital cameras and recovers lost/deleted media files, such as photos, songs, and videos. The software exhibits an interactive home screen that has three built in data recovery options, i.e. ‘Recover Photo, Audio & Video’, ‘Create Image’, and ‘Resume Recovery’. It has high compatibility with even 2TB data storage devices.
The ‘Recover Photo, Audio & Video’ option displays all logical volumes of the hard drive as well as the complete hard drive to scan for lost and deleted photo, audio and video file formats. The tool also enables you to add new multimedia file formats to the list of supported file types. This feature enhance you to customize and improve its recovery capability.
Advance Scan options displays the file types and extensions of the supported and recoverable files. Moreover, the users can pre-specify the starting and ending sectors of the hard drive, its volumes, or the attached storage media before the scanning starts.
In addition, this scanned information can be saved as an Image (.DAT) file. Load Image option requires choosing the hard drive or volume image (.img) file to proceed recovery. Similarly, Create Image option displays hard drive volumes as well as the hard drive to create image (.img) file.
You can also select a particular region (if required) to create its image instead of the whole volume or the hard drive. Resume Recovery option requires previously saved scan information (.DAT) file or the volumes/hard drive image (.img) to proceed to recovery. The software quickly loads these images and displays a 3-pane view of the scanned files in 3 different formats, i.e. Thumbnail view, Tree view and CoverFlow view from the scanned information image (.DAT) file. You can refine the scanned result here before the recovery process starts. The software is compatible with the latest Mac OXS Mountain Lion.
